Hi there! We are GG (she) and D (he) and we are a middle-aged couple who found each other right at the beginning of the pandemic. As one might imagine it was beyond bizarre to start a relationship during a horrific pandemic but both of us were just brave and crazy enough to give it a try. We dated via FaceTime for a month before finally meeting at a local park. After many dates that involved nothing but holding each other’s overly sanitized hands we realized that we were really good together on AND off camera. After a few months of dating D moved into the other side of GG’s duplex and we have been happy ever since. Isn’t love grand and weird AF?
Now, there are a few things you should know about us before we go any further. GG has been alcohol free since March of 2018 and D has been alcohol free for 1.5 years with a couple of hiccups. GG had gastric bypass in 2004 so obviously she suffers from food addiction issues. GG quit smoking in 2003 and D quit in 2004, though D still uses nicotine patches. GG is an actual hoarder and shopping on Amazon is a bit of a problem at times and D is a collector of comic books and gaming paraphernalia. Both of us use the television to numb out and since we’ve been in pandemic hell you can imagine that we have watched ridiculous amounts of television over the last year. The pandemic really halted all physical activity for both of us other than a few bike rides so we’ve both gained weight and generally are feeling like shit. D has also had an ongoing bout of Brewer’s Gut which has become really worrisome to both of us so we decided to do something drastic– we are starting the Plant Based Whole30 on March 1, 2022 and both of us are excited and scared shitless. Giving up our favorite things for a month is scary but is probably the best way for us to combat our issues and addictions surrounding food right now. We’ve always thought about having a blog or vlog and this seemed like a great time to start one since we are both going to be raw and angry for the next 30 days so what better time to accost the public with our caustic wit and bitterness?
